Small Business Tax Credit – The small business tax credit will not be available after 2016, so businesses that do qualify need to take advantage of it while they can. To receive the small business tax credit, your company must meet the following criteria:

  • Have less than 25 full-time equivalent employees (defined as averaging 30 hours or more per week)
  • Average earnings for these employees must be under $50,000 annually
  • Must pay 50% of premiums for employees in qualified health plans
  • The credit has not already been claimed for two consecutive years
