Small Business Tax Credit – There were some changes to the Small Business Tax Credit in 2014 that business owners should be aware of. The most important is that, starting in 2015, the tax credit will only be available for plans bought through the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) marketplace, also referred to as Covered California. (There are some exceptions to this and an insurance agent can help you determine if you qualify.) The tax credit will increase in 2015, allowing businesses to deduct a higher percentage of contributions to group plans: as much as 50% for small businesses and 35% for tax-exempt employers. The credit cannot be claimed for more than two consecutive years.
Plan Selection – One of the most valuable services we offer our clients is plan selection and advising.
